HSV's Sportscat is reinventing HSV in a whole new way!

In years gone by, when I thought of HSV, I thought of the race-bred, noisy V8 powered sedan and utility models, and they were fantastic! However, as 2018 saw the last of Holden's Australian built models run out the door, and the introduction of the all-new European Commodore. It is also the starting point of an entirely new range of HSV's as well.

It's been well publicised, but the Sportscat now headlines the HSV range alongside the Chevrolet Silverado and soon-to-arrive Camaro model, and it does not disappoint! From its oversized, bulging guards covering the 18" alloys wrapped in Cooper 285/60R18 all-terrain tyres, to the 45mm lifted suspension and bulging bonnet scoop*, this new truck certainly looks the part. And once you look a little deeper, there is even more HSV DNA evident.

While the Colorado based, HSV dual-cab runs an untouched Duramax 2.8L turbo-diesel out of the regular version, the 140kW and 500Nm matched to the 6spd manual or 7spd automatic gearbox still packs a solid punch, and combined with the raised and significantly improved suspension, the new Sportscat performs strongly both on and off the road.

The most memorable first impression of Sportscat is how confident it feels on the tarmac. Don’t think that this is just a stickered up Colorado, the lifted suspension does everything it sets out to do, improving ride on the tarmac as well as much improved clearance for any time you’re venturing off the beaten track!

Inside, the HSV trimmings are again evident with coloured stitching on the supportive but comfortable leather seating and dashboard finishings. There aren’t a lot of option boxes not already ticked right from the start!
